PACE offers general individual counselling to residents of City of London and Hackney boroughs.
One-to-one counselling is for people who are facing issues such as anxiety, coming out, sexual identity, depression and relationship difficulties. All our counsellors are lesbian, gay or bisexual. They are all fully qualified or in the final part of their training and offer a range of approaches. All counselling is supervised on a regular basis and follows the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy’s (BACP) Code of Ethics.
Where we can, we offer
- Daytime and evening appointments
- Counselling from a range of different approaches
- Choice of counsellor in terms of gender, ethnic origin, age and disability
- Counselling in languages other than English
If, after an initial consultation, you decide that counselling at PACE is right for you, you will be offered up to twelve 50-minute sessions on a weekly basis.
If you are in crisis
and you need immediate phone support, you can contact :

To make an appointment or for information
Call us on 020 7700 1323 between 10am-1pm or 2pm-5pm, Monday to Friday or email Flavio Silva.
You will be invited to attend an initial consultation to meet a counsellor to discuss whether counselling at PACE would suit your needs. If not then we can suggest other organisations that could help you. After the initial consultation you will be held on a waiting list until a suitable counsellor is available. The more flexible you can be about your availability, the sooner we can usually find a counsellor to work with you.
You do not need to be referred by your GP.
Confidentiality
All our counselling is completely confidential. PACE has a confidentiality policy that your counsellor will explain to you at your initial consultation.
Complaints
We make every effort to provide you with a service of the highest quality and standard. If you are dissatisfied with the service that you receive, we have a complaints policy that you can access at any point.
Costs
We are committed to offering our services to people on low incomes. Our individual counselling and family services are free of charge. However, as PACE is a charity and dependent on donations, you will be invited to make a contribution depending on what you can afford.
If you would like to help towards this service then please make a donation.
At present, due to a loss of funding, we no longer have the resources to offer a general London wide counselling service. We are fundraising to restore this service.
For all other London borough residents if you require details of LGBT counselling providers or details of private therapists please contact us. We have details of qualified counsellors or psychotherapists from our referral network, all members of which have been interviewed by us. For details of our other counselling services (for example, Couple Counselling) please use the relevant links.
