Telephone Counselling
Pace offers short term telephone counselling for anyone living in the UK who is dealing with issues related to being lesbian, gay, trans or bisexual and being in relationships and/or families. We support both LGBT and heterosexual family members.
The sessions are with an experienced counsellor and are confidential. The confidentiality policy will be explained to you before the start of the counselling.
We offer:
Six, weekly telephone sessions
Each session is for 30 minutes, at the same time each week.
There is no charge for the sessions. However, Pace is a charity and would appreciate any donation you are able to make.
Issues brought to phone counselling include:
- Coming out
- A family member coming out
- Family Issues
- Bereavement
- Loss, the end of a relationship
- Relationship difficulties
- Isolation
In order to assess whether or not phone counselling might work for you, we begin by having an initial conversation with a counsellor over the phone. This is in confidence.
Sometimes telephone counselling is not be the most appropriate source of support, either because of individual circumstances or to address issues particular issues. If this is the case the counsellor would discuss other options with you, may be able to suggest alternative services or to help you access further support for yourself.
