PACE’s counselling service provides support to people who are facing issues such as anxiety, coming out, sexual identity, depression and relationship difficulties. We offer a range of counselling approaches and all our counsellors are lesbian, gay or bisexual. They are all fully qualified or in the final part of their training. All counselling is supervised on a regular basis and follows the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
We offer
Where we can, we offer
- Daytime and evening appointments
- Counselling from a range of different approaches
- Choice of counsellor in terms of gender, ethnic origin, age and disability
- Counselling in languages other than English
Who can come to PACE?
Anyone who is lesbian or gay or who is questioning their sexuality can come to PACE for counselling providing that their income is less than £22,000 per annum (except for counselling on men's sexual health and drugs/alcohol which is for everyone regardless of income). If your annual income is above £22,000 we can refer you to a qualified counsellor or psychotherapist from our Referral Network, all members of which have been interviewed by us.
To make an appointment
Call us on 020 7700 1323 between 10-1pm or 2-5pm, Monday to Friday.
You will be invited to attend an initial consultation to meet a counsellor to discuss whether counselling at PACE would suit your needs. If not then we can suggest other organisations that could help you. After the initial consultation you will be held on a waiting list until a suitable counsellor is available. The more flexible you can be about your availability, the sooner we can usually find a counsellor to work with you.
You do not need to be referred by your GP.
Confidentiality
All our counselling is completely confidential. PACE has a confidentiality policy that your counsellor will explain to you at your initial consultation.
Complaints
We make every effort to provide you with a service of the highest quality and standard. If you are dissatisfied with the service that you receive, we have a complaints policy that you can access at any point.
Costs
We are committed to offering our services to people on low incomes. Our individual counselling, sexual health and family services are free of charge. However, as PACE is a charity and dependent on donations, you will be invited to make a contribution depending on what you can afford.
