About Counselling…talking things through with a Counsellor can really help
It can support you if you are:
- Feeling isolated & lonely, unhappy or depressed, angry or violent
- Experiencing family problems, difficulties at school, college or work
- Having drug or alcohol problems, eating difficulties, or you are self-harming
- Experiencing abuse or discrimination
- Exploring sexual identity and relationships
- Or you just want someone to talk to….
About the counsellor…
Our counsellor is a lesbian who works with young people who are exploring or questioning their sexuality and/or identity. She will give you a safe space to talk privately about how you feel and help you to clarify and understand any concerns you may have. If there are any changes you may want to make in your life she will help you to think this through by supporting you in making your own choices without telling you what you should do.
How to make an appointment…
You can refer yourself. You do not need to be referred by your GP or anyone else. You can call the administrator Flavio to arrange a meeting with the counsellor.Tel. 020 7715 0370 between 10am-1pm or 2pm-5pm, Monday to Thursday. or email him at flavio.silva@pacehealth.org.uk
You will be invited to come to PACE for an initial appointment. This will give you the opportunity to talk to the counsellor about what is concerning you and she will look with you at what support would be most appropriate to you.
This could include:
- A one-off meeting
- Short-term Counselling (weekly up to 12 weeks)
- Referral to an other service within PACE and/or other agencies
After the initial meeting if a space is not available you may be put on a waiting list and we will contact you as soon as possible to arrange further sessions.
